Raleigh, North Carolina – K. Melissa Kennedy has been invited to judge the NC Datapalooza All Things Open pitch competition, to be held October 26-27, 2016, at Raleigh Convention Center, Raleigh, NC.

K. Melissa Kennedy is an intrapreneur turned entrepreneur, and founder of 48 Innovate, an innovation facilitation firm, specializing in billion-dollar methodology, Smart Speed™, a unique process that focuses on intrapreneurship — taking advantage of the innovation-driving resources hiding in plain sight: front-line employees who have unique insights and great ideas. Kennedy will serve on a panel of judges for NC Datapalooza, an open-data startup competition to catalyze positive community and economic impact. Teams will have the opportunity to make their pitches to a panel of judges. Three teams will then be chosen to compete in the pitch finale.

The mission of NC Datapalooza is to provide a robust set of usable open data that can be manipulated by local entrepreneurs; increase regional collaboration around open data; stimulate significant economic and community development; and position North Carolina as a hotbed of open-data and entrepreneurial activity.
